What is this?
Gather at Black Cat Bookstore in shared support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas. Bring something to read out loud from a banned book and share its importance with other community members. Registration to read out loud is recommended so that we may be respectful of the two hours we have together. Water and snacks will be provided.

Banned Books Week and the Read-Out started in 1982 with continuous readings of banned and challenged books in libraries and bookstores. Banned Books Week highlights the value of free and open access to information. The theme this year is "Books Unite Us, Censorship Divides Us". Censorship not only divides us, it undermines democracy.
